Transferring a website is actually fairly straightforward and is a service that is often requested. There are two aspects to the transfer; the website itself and any associated domain names. It may be that only one, or in some cases neither, is necessary for us to work with you.

Moving a website over to Nu Media Advantage is very easy we offer a couple of options. The may find that some or all of your website has copyright restrictions, although most design companies allow for royalty free use. In difficult cases, intellectual property rights may can be asserted - after all it is your organisation.

Assuming all goes well with your existing host, we have two options:-

  1. Copy and update your existing website - with the co-operating of your existing host, copying your website to a new host will be very easy. Even without full co-operation, it is still possible and takes very little time. Once copied across, we can make any necessary changes to your website in line with your requirements.

Domain Name Transfers

Domain name ownership and transfers are a grey area and can take time and a lot of patience! Thankfully we have transferred domain names many times and are confident in our abilities to ensure the process is smooth!

How simple a domain name transfer is depends on whether you or your current host is the registrant of the domain name, and if it is the latter, how willing they are to co-operate. The domain name extension (.co.uk, .com, .net etc...) also plays a role and there are different procedures for each one.

In a lot of cases, it is not necessary to move the actual domain name itself. We can simply point your domain name to your new website and nothing else need change.
