Just Racing's requirements were clear and straightforward:-

  • A website to promote racing events
  • The ability to register online and by post for events
  • Secure payment processing
  • Content Management System to allow Alan to manage his own content and events
  • "Latest news" feature 
  • Automated start-list line-ups
  • Newsletter and race subscription database
  • Secure, central online database of events and participants
  • Sponsorship showcase
  • Race result management

Taking inspiration from the existing website we worked on a fresh-new look for the launch of the new events portal. Working with one of Alan's own designers, the colours were taken from an existing logo and used as a base for our theme.

Technically, the site sits within a PHP / MySQL framework, using Drupal, a leading Open-Source content management system, as a base. Taking several existing modules and creating many more, we shaped the site to meet the requirements.

The result is a website based on Open-Source technologies that has enabled Just Racing to accept online payments, improve conversions and position themselves at the top of their field.

Organisation Background: 

Formed in 2000 by Alan Rose, Just Racing is an event management company, specialising in running and triathlon events and coaching provision. Their portfolio of events have included;

  • A series of multi-terrain running events
  • Pool based and open water triathlons
  • County Championship events
  • British Triathlon Grand Prix events
  • 220 Triathlon Magazine Series events 
  • National Triathlon Championships
  • World Age Group Qualifying races

At the heart of Just Racing is a strong events team, which can comprise up to 80 individuals per event. Many of the team can be found racing the triathlon circuit throughout the season.
