Optimised Website Content

Optimised Website ContentThere are thousands of SEO companies and a virtual library of SEO-related information (especially where keywords are concerned). Much of this information is contradictory, some is downright misleading. So to help you decide which SEO company you want to use, we're offering some free advice...

Optimising for Search Engines

Did you know that Google (and other search engines) index your site based primarily upon your content?

"What!" you say, "No tricks? No gimmicks?"

Absolutely not! Tricks and gimmicks can get your website banned.

It's simple - Google and other search engines are on the side of the people who truly matter - web users, including your prospective clients. What search engines want are high quality, authoritative websites that give web users what they want. Web users don't want to be tricked or manipulated, and they don't want to be left to sink in an undifferentiated swamp of meaningless information - they want clear, concise information that's well presented and (instantly) easy to find.

True, search engines do need to be able to find your site! But the more your page-by-page content honestly reflects what you actually want to say and is consistent with (but doesn't rely upon) your identified keyword terms, the more relevance your page has and the higher your page appears in the organic listings. Combine this with correct use of page titles, headings, quality content addition, image and link tags and you will have a website Google will want to index!

Optimising for People

People will give up on a website very quickly if they can't see (or get to) what they want to know. This gives you have an extremely small window in which to catch and keep your visitor's attention, so every word counts.

Keeping your visitor's attention is about:

  • Creating a website that contains all the information a visitor needs
  • Creating a website that makes this information as accessible and easy to find as possible
  • Presenting content that's relevant, useful, and engaging!
  • Giving visitors (old and new) new things to look at by updating and adding content regularly (something our Content Management System makes easy!)
  • Encouraging trust in your organisation by... well, by being honest.

Remember: - The position a website ranks in a search engine's listings is about website authority and relevance, not about tricks and short-term 'fixes'.
